Design Concept
Every parent places great emphasis on their children¡¦s education. Under the global society, the younger generations not only work with their peers but also compete with global elite. The competitive advantage begins with language, especially Chinese and English. No parent wants to see their children left behind at the beginning, but they also hope that their children have a happy childhood. There are much information to learn. How can children learn quickly and enjoyably!
The Polubo series is called Babymate because we hope that it can become children's first playmate. Through a cute design that can no only sing and dance, the combination of voice and music will make children interested in interactive learning. While the children play with their parents, the Babymate will enhance the children's ability to absorb and remember their language lessons with ease just when their language learning skills are at their peak.
Product Naming
Polubo was born on May 20, 2002 (Star sign is Taurus, blood type A) on the planet Polubo in the Milky Way. The name"Polubo" itself resulted from consultations with many early childhood education experts and overseas academics.
Apperance
The design for a small child's play companion is very important as it must be both attractive to the child and safe at the same time. The design underwent several revisions and modification to balance appeal and safety, resulting in the current appearance of Polubo. It now has a pair of large eyes, two long ears together with a cute smile and round body. When it is talking or singing, sound and lighting effects that draw the children's attention appear, making it very popular with kids.
Function
To attract a child¡¦s attention, a product must not only have a cute appearance, but also fun sound and light effects as well so they will be willing to sit down and play with Polubo. After the appearance and safety features have been carefully worked out, the audio output was next. The hardware design used high quality hardware digital decoding chips for sound and music, while two additional microprocessors along with a sound amplifier circuit to made the audio output strong and clear. On the Polubo's tummy is a place to insert an IC card composed of an RFID chip (same as those used on the MRT Easycard) encased in medical grade non-toxic silicon packaging. This feature is perfectly safe as it can be bent or chewed on. When the Polubo reads the card, it will begin speaking words and phrases recorded inside the content.
The card content was recorded by professional cartoon voice actors in a recording studio accompanied by music produced by music professionals. Together with the colorful storybooks, children will be to see with their eyes and hear with their ears material that was designed by early childhood education experts.
The Polubo also comes with internal rechargeable battery. Once fully charged it is ready to go traveling everywhere with the children, and even at home there is no danger from electrical wiring.
There are a total of four keys on the Polubo's two feet that used for controlling the sound volume and selecting story segments when no card is inserted. On the back is a clock with alarm function so the Polubo can wake children up at the set time. It also has an automatic power-off function, so when children are tired out from all the fun, the Polubo will automatically go into sleep mode if it receives no response after prompting them to insert a card.
There are a total of 400 cards in 8 categories and a separately printed colorful storybook. The base of the Polubo allows memory cards to be swapped out so it can change the type and format of language used. The card and memory card combination not only supports language learning but can also be used to play fables. The variety of card content, voice acting, background music and the Polubo's sound and lighting effects give children a great companion at their side for a happy childhood. In this easy and fun interactive learning atmosphere, children will become true citizens of the global village.
